How we work

OUR DESIGN PROCESS PHASE 1 — Each job may include some or all of these steps:

  1. The initial appointment, usually on site, to review the plans if available, and determine the project scope. This appointment will be followed up with a copy of our design proposal agreement.
  2. Enter into a design agreement for your project. We then come to the job site for consultation, measurements, and photos.
  3. Meet with the client in our studio or your home to discuss your styles, needs and desires. This is a good time to present any photos that you have collected and a list of your selections, if you have them.
  4. We prepare up to 3 layouts based on our meeting. We meet again to present the layouts and decide on which one to develop.
  5. We develop that layout into elevations and prepare cabinetry and lighting plans. Then we meet again to review changes and get final approval.
  6. Numbers talk on every project, and our goal is to get the most "look" out of the project budget. We can assist our clients in many ways to prepare and analyze project costs.
  7. We prepare final materials specifications, enter cabinetry purchase agreements, and receive a deposit to place the order.
  8. All of our construction documents are prepared using a computer rendering program, and can be shared electronically amongst the project team. Depending on the type of project, we can create "insert sets" that are used inside an architectural set or stand alone sets that incorporate other consultants on the project.

CONSTRUCTION PROCESS PHASE 2 — Contract Administration:

Here is where we visit the project site, coordinate with the contractor, provide supplemental information as necessary, and answer questions to help keep the contractor moving along and the client informed during the construction portion of the project.

We will perform a final review of the construction documents prior to release for Plan Check and construction bidding.

We organize installations and deliveries of materials, which may include cabinetry, stone and tile, fixtures, and appliances, cabinet hardware and lighting fixtures.

POST INSTALLATION EVALUATION PHASE 3 — The Celebration:

As we require a record of our design projects, we request the right to photograph your project and use such photographs, design drawings or sketches for promotional and marketing use. This will be at your convenience, and we won't identify you without written consent.

We will walk through and evaluate the final results with you.
