Design details for media, entertainment and office space
Invited by the Bill Holmes, General Contractor to help detail specialty areas of this new luxury home, Simmons & Co. put on our furniture hat to provide necessary engineering and detailing of media cabinetry, personal offices and other areas to the builder's custom cabinet shop.
The Andalusian architecture was the point of departure for the family theater. We thought over 14 feet of wall was sufficient to house two flat screens, an 8' drop down screen, audio equipment and speakers. Think again. A Moorish detail was the inspiration for speaker covers. The billiard room offered the opportunity to have a bookcase passage door to a secret room. The owners' private office provided us and opportunity to explore Shaker design for a desk and bookcase. Simmons & Co. found a local furniture specialist to execute the specific details we wanted in true furniture.
