Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
Creative clients make great partners. Here the goal was to refresh the kitchen and restore the vertical grade redwood cabinets, whose finish had degraded over time.
Replacing the redwood required recreating the veneer plywood, unobtainable since the 50's. Our rehab included providing a new oven and pantry cabinet to match the existing. Every exposed surface was either stripped and refinished or, if un-restorable, replaced. The countertops were replaced with a Rhodesian Black flamed granite an amazingly smooth finish on a highly textured surface. An oyster glass brick tile is a neutral background for the owners artful collections and displays. This is a treasure box of a kitchen, and the owners love entertaining in it.
