A classic Santa Barbara Riviera Spanish Revival was the backdrop for a timeless design to appear as if Lutah Maria Riggs had just left the room. Working with the contractor, we designed the plaster hood surround and detailed the corner fireplace to match. Modern conveniences hidden behind impeccable joinery made a cozy kitchen space very efficient and pleasing to the senses.
Shoehorning in storage space was mandatory to make the kitchen work. The shallow depth base cabinets feature tilt out bins for pet food storage. The period tile selection balances color and styling, and was influenced by the client's color choice for the cabinets. The Caesarstone countertop was chosen for neutral colored functionality so as not to visually conflict with the spectacular travertine stone farm sink.
